YOUNG GENERAL ASSEMBLY POLICIES
POLICY OF SELF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
In 1992 the Young General Assembly developers established the policy that each person going to a national or international residential meeting is responsible to raise their own travel funds and funds to pay for their own sleeping quarters and their own meals. By people taking responsibility for themselves, the Young General Assembly has been able to continue its work in an economical but productive manner.
POLICY FOR DISMISSAL OF MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS
When Member Organizations do not operate in a manner that is consistent with the Young General Assembly Charter, they are informed by writing and given 30 days to respond. If there is no response, the organization is notified that it has been dismissed. Member Organizations must turn in a completed Annual Report Form at the end of the year about their activities and include children in planning and policy decision-making processes. Their representatives must bring love, unity, and harmony to the meetings they attend.
CODE OF CONDUCT AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR REPRESENTATIVES OF THE YOUNG GENERAL ASSEMBLY
1. As described in its Charter, the Young General Assembly deals with many issues. Therefore, its Representatives are to be well prepared ahead of meetings/events so they can discuss many issues and make independent decisions at meetings where they represent the Young General Assembly.
2. Representatives need to be open-minded towards the views of others and seek ways to unite people, maintain harmony, and develop partnerships.
3. Representatives of the Young General Assembly must be courteous, punctual for appointments, and willing and able to listen to, speak about, and explore diverse views, opinions, and preferences.
4. A person who accepts the responsibility of being a representative of the Young General Assembly must take every opportunity to distribute the organization's materials, promote the growth of the organization, and submit a report of the event/meeting to the Secretariat within 10 days upon return home.
5. Young General Assembly representatives must put the organization's business and interests ahead of personal pleasure by attending scheduled meetings, speaking out when appropriate, contributing to committees, and volunteering time and effort to ensure the event/meeting achieves its goals.
6. Any Young General Assembly Representative failing to carry out the above Code of Conduct and Responsibilities will loose his or her opportunity to represent the Young General Assembly in any way at any time.
